A local softball coach is now wanted by law enforcement after he allegedly slapped a woman during a game earlier this month.
According to reports from PCT 4, on February 16, 2019, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 16800 block of Kitzman Road, at Dyess Park in reference to a disturbance.
Upon deputies arriving, the complainant, a 59-year-old woman advised she was assaulted by a softball coach who then fled the scene prior to Constables arriving.
The complainant reported that during a baseball game, she used her cellphone to record a male in the bleachers who was using foul language and gestures. The coach then attempted to stop her from recording, struck her with an open hand, pushed her onto the ground and continued to assault her until a witness intervened.
Constable Deputies through their investigation were able to identify the suspect as a softball coach named James Schmidt. The suspect James Schmidt was filed on for class A assault and at the time of this release had not been arrested.
