According to reports from PCT 4, on December 29, 2018, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the Pecan Square Apartments located in the 13900 block of Ella Boulevard in reference to an"officer down" call where an unknown male reported that a deputy had been shot and that a nurse was performing CPR.

Constable Mark Herman's Office along with other law enforcement agencies responded priority #1 with lights and sirens to the location and began a tedious search of the apartment complex to find the injured deputy. All responding agencies thoroughly searched the apartment complex and no evidence of a shooting or an injured deputy were located.

Constable Deputies conducted an investigation and with the assistance of the Cypress Creek EMS Communications Center and the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office, deputies were able to identify the caller as Demarcus Pugh and issued a warrant for his arrest for False Report.

"Demarcus Pugh was arrested for the warrant on December 31, 2018 and was booked into the Harris County Jail. Demarcus Pugh is currently under investigation for additional crimes involving reporting false incidents to local public safety agencies in 2017 and 2018. We anticipate filing more criminal charges against him."- Constable Mark Herman
