Meet Swenke Elementary School third-grader Kate Stavinoha in this "Student of the Week" profile.

Accomplishments: 9-year-old Stavinoha has a number of talents, as she plays both the piano and ukulele, and rides horses. The straight-A student had artwork displayed at the Instructional Support Center. In addition, Stavinoha was chosen for “living above the line” and as a “friend to all.”
Favorite classes: “Writing, art, music and reading. I would love to be an author when I grow up. I also love to express myself through art and music.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I love to ride horses and play the piano and ukulele. Riding horses helps me feel free. Playing instruments is music to my ears.”
Favorite website: www.myon.com. “You can read about creatures you may have never known about before.” www.abcya.com. “It has a lot of fun math games.”
Favorite TV show: “The Lion Guard because it reminds me of the times when I was younger and would watch The Lion King movie with Pods and Daddy.”
Favorite movie: “How to Train a Dragon because it is imaginative and creative. It’s fun to imagine what it would be like to have a dragon of my own and be able to fly around together.”
Ambition: “I hope someday I will be a good mom.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I’m passionate about being a kind friend. It’s important to me that everyone has a chance to feel included.”
Who inspires you?: “Pods because he is always so wise and he always makes the best of things. Jesus because I want to follow Him and love people like He does. I want to be more like Him as I grow up. And Leila – she is a great friend who is very easy going and trustworthy.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “Family, God, Jesus and food.”
